I'm having this issue as well. I have an Excel file that autorepublishes to an html file on a network share. If I or someone else is previewing that html file the publish does not work.

Also, if I am working with an Excel file, and then preview it once while it is open in Excel, Excel will freeze. I have to close the preview in order to continue my work. So far the issue is limited by the fact that not everyone in our organisation has Windows 7 yet.

I am having this issue with PDF files in Windows Why the heck does the preview open with a lock, could it not preview in read only mode and thus not block writers? If the preview is a version out of date until you reselect I do not think that would be nearly as big an issue as blocking saves with incorrect and misleading messages. I use preview heavily as PDF viewer is built-in and pressing space bar key will start preview really fast.
